After being approached by a Cheshire-based architect, Clearview Home Improvements oversaw the construction of a sympathetic ground floor orangery-style extension.
Initially, the Knights worked with their architect of choice to devise a single storey extension to their semi-detached home. They had previously worked with the architect several years previously and partnered with them once more when the opportunity to expand further presented itself.
The Chesire-based architect took inspiration from conventional orangeries that have become increasingly popular in recent years. However, they positioned the extension at the right rear of the property, making it ‘L’-shape in form and wrapping it around both the rear and side elevations.
Keen to progress with the proposals, the Knights authorised the work to go to tender. Their appointed architect spoke with several companies, of which Clearview was one.
From our initial meeting, we provided detailed documentation of the planning that would be required, alongside key points of specification. Instead of simply accepting the designs as drawn, we subtly proposed some minor modifications to address some structural concerns and ensure that the specified products could be successfully utilised.
Our recommendations were implemented. Impressed by our knowledge and depth of preparatory research, we were awarded the contract to complete the building work.
With a few months until winter, construction deadlines were tight. But due to our size, purchasing power and skilled install teams (a must for the required intricate masonry work), all the work was completed before Christmas.
