Secure Upgrades For National Home Security Month
It appears that British homeowners are well aware of this if research by security experts, ADT, is to be believed – they found that 76.5% of them are more conscious of home security in autumn. However, this isn’t reflected in the country’s burglary rates, which are much higher than you would want them to be.
You can get information of how safe your neighbourhood is via the National Home Security Month website (just use the postcode checker), an annual scheme that’s 10-years-old this year and takes place every October.

Most burglars head straight for doors when attempting to access properties, backed up by info from the ONS, showing that 76% of domestic burglaries in England and Wales occur in such fashion.
They like to try and snap a lock to get a door open. To check if you could be the next victim of lock snapping, see if your door cylinders protrude more than the depth of a £1 coin. If they do, they’re not secure enough.
