Interior Design Ideas For Your Conservatory

When space is harder and harder to come by at your home and you’re desperate for more it, a conservatory is a definite answer to your problems.

A newly installed conservatory is a total blank canvas where you can really stamp your personality just like you will have done in the rest of the house.

There’s so much you can do inside from an interior design perspective, even if you have one of the more compact conservatory designs like a Lean-To.

Not sure how you’re best decorating and accessorising it? Read on for some very inspirational ideas:

Implement Pantone’s current ‘Color of the Year’

Since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute declares a “Color of the Year” annually and this year it is Ultra Violet.

This blue-based purple, described as a “provocative and thoughtful purple shade”, can be implemented into your conservatory in multiple ways whether it’s done via some Ultra Violet coloured throws and cushions, lampshades or even a simple set of coasters. This promises to leave your interior looking right on trend.

Bring a bit of the garden indoors

You can create a direct link between your conservatory and garden by including bi-folding doors, French doors or patio doors in the design. If you don’t have them then it is still possible to give it that garden feel.

Add a few potted plants to key areas like any dining or coffee table you have in the conservatory and you could install multi-purpose seated furniture that you can lounge on inside or outside depending on the weather. Wooden and rattan furniture usually works best.

Blinds

Wishful thinking, but let’s anticipate that lots of bright, sunny days lie ahead this summer. If things transpire that way you can control how much natural light travels into your conservatory with some conservatory blinds.

Get them made-to-measure and in a pattern and style (e.g. Venetian, Roller, Roman, Vertical, Pleated) that complements the various other accessories inside the room. Shop around as there are plenty of blind options available.
